Rhinoplasty

These are aesthetic operations performed to reshape the nose.

In Which Situations, Nose Surgeries Are Performed?

At this stage, each patient should consult a specialist doctor. The intranasal structure should be examined and how long the person can breathe or not should be evaluated. The structure of the concha, the presence of allergic polyps, the condition of the cartilage, and bone structures in the nose should be examined in detail.

Minimum age

Rhinoplasty operations can be performed from the age of 17 in women and from the age of 18 in men.

Operation Methods

There are two types of methods for rhinoplasty, open and closed. While the method to be used is determined by your doctor before the operation, the decision about which changes to be made is discussed with the patient.

Healing Process

Bleeding during the surgery and depending on the patient's skin type, bruising and swelling may occur around the patient's eyes immediately after the surgery. This is completely normal and such bruises and swelling will gradually disappear in about 2 weeks. Complete healing of the nose takes between 6 months and 1 year.

F.A.Q

Does swelling occur after Rhinoplasty?

Bruises and swelling are the main aspects of recovery, as the pain after surgery is minimal. The delicate anatomy of the nose is very sensitive to traumas and surgical interventions. When the nasal bones are surgically reconstructed, more bruises are observed. In most patients, they disappear within two weeks. Swelling disappear completely within one month.

How long to wait to see the result?

The results are three to five months after the operation - after the swelling of the face. Swelling requires a recovery time giving the delicate nose structure. If patients are not satisfied with the outcome, any additional interventions are planned one year after surgery. The probability of recurrence (secondary) rhinoplasty is usually about 10-15%.

Is rhinoplasty painful?

Pain after surgery is minimal. Most patients only need painkillers for the next one to two days.
